Be Active!

People with diabetes are often told to exercise to help lower their blood sugar.  I like to say "Be active".
  • Being active can be fun and enjoyable.
  • Even just walking is very helpful in lowering blood sugar levels.
  • Research shows that 3 short walks per day, (for 10 minutes each time), can help lower blood sugar levels.
  • Be active, but be "real".  You don't need to run a marathon to improve blood sugar levels.
  • Walking works!
  • See below on the benefits of adding 30 minutes of walking per day.

Walking Works!

"Interval" walking is walking faster for a few minutes, then walking slower for a few minutes.
This increases the body's use of sugar in the blood.  A great way to lower blood sugar levels and increase fitness level.
